CASCO — William F. Caswell Jr., 70, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Casco on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016.

He was the husband of Donna Lee (Brule) Caswell. They shared just three days shy of 50 loving years together.

Born in Gray on Aug. 19, 1946, he was the fourth born of eight children to William and Barbara Carr Caswell. He graduated from Scarborough High School in 1965 and immediately joined the U.S. Air Force. He served during the Vietnam War as a jet engine specialist.

Bill came back to Maine after traveling the globe and worked as an auto mechanic for many years. He transitioned into a job at the Crooked River Elementary School and was respected and loved by all. Bill went on to the U.S. Post Office, where he was employed for over 23 years. During this time, he achieved his associate’s degree from Westbrook College.

Bill was a member of ALPCA and American Legion Post #112. His hobbies included painting landscapes, making stained glass and building birdhouses. He never held on to or sold his wares but gave them away freely to anyone that would make them happy. He was also an avid collector of license plates to baseball cards to stamps and coins. He was also a music aficionado. He loved all genres and especially loved sharing his love of music with others.

In his leisure time, Bill was always intrigued by the unknown and paranormal.
