CASCO — Valerie A. Loan, 67, of Casco, died late Sunday evening, Apr. 14, 2024, at the Coastal Manor in Yarmouth.

She was born on Feb. 14, 1957, in Alexandria, Va., the daughter of Air Force veteran, John P. Denny Sr. and his wife, Dorothy R. (Verheyen). She attended schools throughout the United States, graduating from high school in Brockton, Mass., in 1978.

On Nov. 12, 1978, she married Daniel Loan and they moved to New Hampshire in 1979, stay-
ing until the early 2000s when they moved with their young children to Casco.

Val went to school to become a nurse and worked at the Bridgton Hospital, Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway and other health agencies.

She enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening, Hallmark movies and the lake.

Val is loved by her husband, Dan of Casco; children, Joseph Loan and his wife, Kristen and their children, Mya and Taylor of Beverly, Mass., Stephen Loan and his wife, Kerry and their children, Benjamin and Jameson of Stratham, N.H., Christine Loan of Hampton, N.H., and Mary Loan and her longtime partner, Aaron McDaniel of Lewiston; siblings, John Denny, Debbie Carver, and Charles Denny.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Michael Denny.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be a private service on Friday, April 26 at 2 p.m. for the immediate family. Prior to the private family service, guests are welcome to pay their respects from 12 to 1:45 p.m.
