VALLEY SPRINGS, CALIF. — Wesley A. Drake, 76, of Valley Springs, Calif., passed away peacefully at his home while being cared for by his loving wife Sandra on July 27, 2011 after a 10-month battle with cancer.

Born in Albion, he was a graduate of Besse High School. Wes was a truck driver with Certified Grocers of California for 37 years, retiring in 1996. Wes was a Maine Mason Lodge #45 A.F. & A.M.

Wes’ passing has brought great sorrow to all those who knew and loved him.

Wes was predeceased by both parents, Aubrey and Gertrude Drake; and a sister, Lillian Hamlin, all of Albion.

Wes is survived by his wife Sandra Drake of Valley Springs, Calif. and Denmark; three sons, Randall, Andrew and Timothy; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson, all of Anaheim, Calif.; one nephew; and his loving step family, Rob, Kim and their children and one grandson.

A funeral service was held on Aug. 1, 2011 in San Andreas, Calif. and a private graveside interment service was held Aug. 5, 2011 in Newington, N.H. for the immediate family.
