Violet Fox

FRYEBURG — Violet May Fox, 89, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 at her home in Fryeburg.
She was born in Ossipee, N.H. on Sept. 10, 1925, the daughter of Charles and Charlotte Sawyer Smith Sr. She was educated in Fryeburg schools.
Violet was employed many years cleaning houses and also worked at several hotels in the area. Her hobbies were bingo, embroidering and casinos. She was also a great cook and enjoyed playing cards and going camping with family members.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 68 years, John Fox, who passed away May 15, 2011; a daughter, Fay; five brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Diana Mchellan of Conway, N.H. and Kay Legare of North Waterford; a sister, Viola Cram of Fryeburg; two grandsons, a granddaughter, two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, North Fryeburg in the spring. Arrangements are made with Wood Funeral Home, Fryeburg.
