Van L. Lang

WINDHAM — Van Leighton Lang, 55, of Windham, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 19, 2010, at the Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Saco on Oct. 19, 1955, the son of Durward and Janet (Leighton) Lang. Van attended Buxton schools and graduated from Bonny Eagle High School. Van went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Air Force’s military police.
Throughout his entire working life, Van worked in the metal plating industry. He worked for companies such as Sylvex and Southern Maine Finishing, and has owned Granite State Plating in Rochester, N.H., for the past eight years.
Van will always be remembered for having fun and laughing, and for the enjoyment he had with golfing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and hunting. He was a member of the Oaks Country Club in New Hampshire.
Van is survived by his parents, Durward and Janet Lang of Buxton; brothers, his twin Vic Lang of New Gloucester and Glen Lang of Sebago; beloved girlfriend, Anne Libby of Windham; and a very large extended family and group of friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, located on the corners of Routes 202 and 4A (13 Portland Road) in Buxton (Bar Mills). A service to celebrate Van’s life followed at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring at South Buxton Cemetery.
