Sonja Willett

BELLINGHAM, MASS. — Sonja Marie (Bowin) Willett, 83, of Bellingham, Mass., passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, November 21, 2021.

She was the wife of the late John G. Willett, deceased in 1988. She leaves her longtime companion of 25 years, Joseph Gangitano. She was the loving mother of Tracey Daignault and her husband, Glen of Crossville, Tenn., Brenda Beale and her husband, Christopher of Methuen, Mass., and Allison Trudeau and her husband, Robert Jr. of Norton, Mass. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sonja was born in New York City on October 29, 1938, the daughter of the late Charles and Anna-Stina (Ericsson) Bowin. She was the sister of the late Joan Burmann and Gail Harmon.

Sonja was a longtime resident of Bellingham and seasonal resident of Harrison. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a business executive for a computer software company. She was an avid reader, loved all music, and would often sing and dance to her favorites. She enjoyed crafts, traveling, and was always up for an adventure. Her greatest joy was spending time laughing and having fun with family and friends. Sonja will be greatly missed.

A private funeral service will be held at Cartier’s Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA.
