Nick Scarlett of Bridgton has been selected as the Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club’s “Citizen of the Month” for June.

Each month, the Rotary Club recognizes a Lake Region High School student who displays good citizenship and contributes to the school community. The recipient is honored at a Rotary breakfast meeting and is presented a monetary gift.

Student organizations, sports teams, activities, hobbies: Golf, cross country, indoor track, outdoor track, National Honor Society, Varsity Club, Student Council, Public Relations Officer.

What do you like most about school, why? I like the classes because they are challenging and push me to do my best.

What is your biggest challenge in school? 
My biggest challenge is English.

What is your favorite subject, and why?
 
I like Social Studies because I learn a lot of information that is relevant to the real world.

If you could change one thing about school, what would it be (and why)? I would change Academy because it is the biggest waste of time and accomplishes nothing.

What characteristics do you believe a good teacher should possess?
 They should be excited about what they teach because that affects how interesting the lesson is!

What goals did you hope to achieve during your high school days?
 Get A’s and B’s so I could get into college.

What do you hope to do in the future in terms of career, and why are you headed in that direction?
 
I don’t know what I want to do in the future in terms of a career but I hope that college will help me decide that by showing me the opportunities available to me.

What do you think it will take to be successful in the future? I think that it will take dedication and hard work to be successful in the future.

What lesson have you learned while at Lake Region High School that will help you in the future? I have learned time management skills and social skills that will help me in the future.
