‘Anything Goes’ senior spotlight

Lake Region High School Drama Club is pleased to announce their upcoming spring musical, “Anything Goes.”

Known for its catchy tunes and charming storyline, Cole Porter’s Tony Award winning musical will be a delight for audiences of all ages. Show dates are Friday, March 29 at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 30 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., no show on Easter, Friday, April 5 at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 6 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 7 at 2 p.m.

Tickets on sale at the door. Adults $15 and students/seniors $10. More information to come.

The LR Drama Club would like to introduce some of the seniors set to appear in Anything Goes.

Susie Butler

Introducing Susie Butler

Susie is from Bridgton and is the daughter of Mindy and Jamie Butler.  She will be playing the role of the photographer and a passenger. 

When asked why she decided to audition for Anything Goes, Susie responded, “A lot of my friends do theater and it seemed like a good learning opportunity. I also enjoy singing and dancing with my friends. I also enjoy learning how theater/drama works and being a part of the production.”

This is Susie’s first show. In the future, Susie plans on going to the University of Vermont to major in Environmental Science.

Introducing Ushana Kumari

Ushana Kumari

Ushana lives in Casco with her host parents Keith and Michelle Brenner and also in Chachro, Pakistan with her parents Anil and Suneeta Rathi. She will be playing the role of an old lady and a passenger.

When asked why she decided to audition for Anything Goes, Ushana responded, “Since this is my exchange year and this is a once in a lifetime experience; theater is the best thing to be a part of. I enjoy talking to everybody, practicing, snacks, being honest. Literally everything.”

This will be Ushana’s first musical. In the future, Ushana would like to pursue a degree from a medical school. She would like to travel the world and have different experiences and become an “inspiration for the women of my country. If you dream big then let the society decide what you should do in your life.”

Introducing Sadie Plummer

Sadie Plummer

Sadie lives in Casco and is the daughter of Grant and Sally Plummer. She will be playing the role of the reporter and a passenger.

When asked why she decide to audition for Anything Goes, Sadie responded, “My friends convinced me. I love hanging out with my friends and meeting new people through theater.”

This is Sadie’s first show. In the future, Sadie will be attending Montana State University to study Biology and Sustainability.
