SCARBOROUGH — Robert C. McCubrey, 86, of South Portland, passed away on March 6, 2015.

The son of Robert W. and Charlotte (Otis) McCubrey, he was born in Portland, on May 3, 1928. He graduated from South Portland High School. He married Barbara Thompson on November 9, 1947.

Robert worked for Chevron Oil Company for 32 years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose for many years and had a passion for his camp at Alder Stream in Eustis where he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was predeceased by two sons, Dale and Peter McCubrey.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara McCubrey; his daughter Carol McCubrey of Sacramento, Calif.; his daughter, Marian Wheeler of Baldwin; and his son Robert A. McCubrey of Windham. He is also survived by five grandchildren, including Michael McCubrey of Bridgton; seven great-grandchildren; five brothers and a sister.

Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Friday, March 13, 2015, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A funeral will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 11 a.m, followed by a reception. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Westbrook in the spring.
