Robert Crossen

WATERFORD — Robert C. Crossen, 66, died Wednesday January 17, 2024, in his home following his battle with cancer.

He was born in San Diego, Calif., on December 27, 1957, the son of Charles and Natalie (Robertson) Crossen.

RC, as he was known to those who love him, graduated from Mesquite High School in Mesquite, Texas, before enlisting to serve in the United States Coast Guard. On April 6, 1991, he married the love of his life, Lori Devereaux.

RC had a deep love and respect for the sea. He was a part of one of the first Coast Guard missions to Antarctica where his passion for the preservation of nature became a part of who he was. He went on to work as a Merchant Marine, captaining several ships to many areas of the world.

RC is survived by his beautiful wife and best friend Lori, his loving sister Patricia “Pat” Eaton along with her children and their families, his only daughter Angela and husband Jesse Jenkins with their many wonderful children, and his sister-in-law Lisa Devereaux.

He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Natalie, and his brother-in-law Chuck Eaton.

At his request, there will be no services held. Instead, to share your love, he and his family request donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. His battle with cancer led his love and his heart to the children fighting the same fight. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope” — Romans 15:13
