Richard N. Ward

FRYEBURG — Richard Norman Ward, 74, of Fryeburg, passed away unexpectedly at home, Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014.

He was the son of Norman and Celia Ward.

His interests included archery, motorcycling, golfing, playing pool, but most of all he was most interested in his family and lived his life around and for them.

He was a God-fearing man who served as a Royal Roager Leader and Elder in the church for many years. A hard worker all his life, he was accomplished in many trades from barbering to construction, and owned Ward’s Drywall and Painting, locally for over 20 years.

Richard had an amazing sense of humor which was always part of his whit, charm and strength. He was always a fair, straightforward, and extremely caring man, a man who always gave a helping hand regardless of who one was. He leaves behind a kind, perseverant blueprint by which to live.

Richard is survived by his wife, Margaret of 55 years; as well as his son Michael F. Ward; daughter and son-in-law, Corinna and Michael Goodwin; stepsons, Thomas and Lewis Dyer; granddaughters, Angel, Leanne and Felisha; grandsons, Eli, Travis, Jared and Jeremy; and his great-grandchildren, Alexzander, Kadence, Kayli, Owen, Michael, Noah and Dylan. He is already deeply missed.

Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 8 Elm Street, Bridgton. Online condolences may be shared with his family at www.chandlerfunerals.com
