Prudent J. Bedard, Jr.

NORTH FRYEBURG — Prudent Joseph Bedard Jr., 64, of North Fryeburg, died Sept. 25, 2011, peacefully at home surrounded by family, after a brief illness.
He was born in Norway on Dec. 15, 1946. Prudent graduated from Fryeburg Academy. He then served in the Army, USATC Inf., at Fort Tilden, N.Y. While in the Army, he earned a National Defense Service Medal. After completing his time serving in the Army and was honorably discharged, he married his wife, Barbara Thurston. Prudent was well-known for his desire to work. Although recently retired due to illness, his previous employment history was as a logger and truck driver for many local businesses including Gorham Sand & Gravel, Les Ferren Trucking Company, Richard Graves Trucking, G.E. Brown Excavation, and lastly Fadden Chipping and Logging.
Along with work, Prudent was an avid hunter, fishing enthusiast, trapper, and gun collector. He was also a lifelong member of the Fish & Game, VFW and National Rifle Association. Among all of his interests, he mostly enjoyed his wife, family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also thoroughly enjoyed the company of his best lifelong friend, James Day Jr. (See you at the lake.)
He will be sadly missed by all, but often remembered for his sharp, loving, personality.
He was predeceased by his father, Prudent J. Bedard Sr. in 1993; and his mother, Geneva C. Forristall Bedard in 1983.
He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 43 years, Barbara Bedard; his three children, Prudent Joseph Bedard III of Center Conway, N.H., Harold Bedard of Conway, N.H. and Bernice Bedard of North Fryeburg; a sister, Penelope Severy of Fryeburg; six brothers, George Bedard of Poland, Bruce Bedard and Kermit Bedard of Port Charlotte, Fla., Rickey Bedard of Fryeburg, Fred Bedard of Wennipeg Manatobier, Calif., and Greg Bedard of Zephyhills, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his aunt and uncle; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
