Pauline P. Benson, 84

Pauline P. “Polly” Benson, 84, a longtime resident of Bridgton, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018, at Bridgton Health Care Center.

Born on July 18, 1933, in Fryeburg, she was the daughter of Aubrey Graves and Neldora Charles. After living in several areas, she and her late husband Lee settled in Bridgton in the late 70s, where she managed the Morning Glory and the Lobster Pound Restaurants, and she also worked in the kitchen at Bridgton Health Care.

Her true passions were sewing, knitting and crafting. She also enjoyed socializing while volunteering for the Bridgton food pantry.

She is survived by six children, Warren and Terry Richardson of Fryeburg, Linda Stubbs of Patten, Catherine and Gene Cross of Naples, Jolene and Clark Paige of Grottoes, Virginia, Wade and Tina Richardson of Brownfield, and Teresa and Wade Beall of Brownfield; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Audrey Andrews of Fryeburg, Florence Tripp of Fryeburg, Rachel Kuvaja of Lovell, Ramona Bachman of Fryeburg; two brothers, Lloyd Graves of Florida, and Cleon Charles of Texas.

She was predeceased by her husband Lee Benson, her infant daughter Carlene Richardson, grandson Cory Cross, and a brother Aubrey Graves Jr.

The family would like to thank Bridgton Health Care for all the care and love that was given to Polly.
