Patricia Gibbons

Patricia A. E. “Pat” Gibbons, 62, of Bridgton, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 3, 2014, at the Bridgton Hospital in Bridgton, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on, Jan. 23, 1952, in Brockton, Mass., a daughter of Herbert and Evelyn (Smith) Kruger. She attended East Bridgewater, Mass., schools.

On April 3, 1971, she married Phillip James “Jim” Gibbons in East Bridgewater, Mass., and moved to Maine in August of 1977 to raise their family.

Pat worked at Food City in Bridgton, Sebago Moccasin, the Bridgton Knitting Mill, and most recently for the Newport Hotel Group in North Conway, N.H.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku and time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Pat also was a very involved and devoted volunteer at the Naples Little League Snack Shack.

She is survived by her husband, Jim of Bridgton; her children, Patrice Gibbons of Pine Island, Fla., Jim Gibbons and his wife, Mary of Naples, Justin Gibbons and his wife, Patti of Bridgton, and Jake Gibbons and his significant other, Michelle Trask of Bridgton; five grandchildren, Cody, Justin, Brock, Madyson, and Ella Gibbons; and countless other family members and beloved friends. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Jack Kruger.

Pat’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the staff at the Bridgton Hospital for their care and support.

A time of memorial visitation was held from 2 to 4 p.m., with a memorial service at 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at the Chandler Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Bridgton.
