Nancy Bjork

Nancy L. Bjork, 82, of Bridgton, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, while being cared for by family. She fought many hard battles with cancer.

Nancy was born on March 4, 1935, to Linwood and Aldine Lindsay of Yarmouth. She was the second oldest of four children. She attended North Yarmouth Academy and won awards for her exceptional sewing talent. She moved to Connecticut as an adult and married Norman R. Bjork. Together, they had two daughters. She later divorced and moved back home to Maine with her children.

She is survived by her daughter Linda J. Graham; her husband Richard E. Gilpatrick Jr.; as well as her four grandchildren, Christina S. Graham, Kaylee J. Gilpatrick-Cobb, Ericca L. Gilpatrick, and Jayden R. Gilpatrick; and one great-grandchild, Piper E. Boutwell. She is also survived by her brother Gordon Lindsay and sister Carol Jordan. Nancy was predeceased by her brother David Linday, and her youngest daughter Lisa, who sadly passed away from cancer.

Nancy enjoyed her family, the outdoors, gardening, birds of all kinds, cooking, sewing, and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was best known for her kindness, generosity, and loving heart. She will be deeply and sadly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 1, at 11 a.m., at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Yarmouth.
