FRYEBURG — Marjorie F. Emery, 86, of Fryeburg, passed away on April 18, 2014, at the Bridgton Health Care Center in Bridgton.

She was born to Perley R. and Amy Hill Head at the family home in South Chatham on Aug. 12, 1927. She attended the one-room schoolhouse in Chatham and graduated from Fryeburg Academy in 1946. She worked for H. P. Hood in Portland, before her marriage to her loving husband, John E. Emery, on April 23, 1949. John lost his Honey just five days before their 65th wedding anniversary.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, ceramics, camping and cooking. She made the best apple pie ever!

She is survived by her husband, John Emery; their children, Sheryl Shackley and her husband Leon, Joanne Pandora and her husband David, David Emery and his wife Jennifer, and Reta Parmenter and her husband Skip; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at Chatham Congregational Church in Chatham, N.H., on Tues., April 22 at 1 p.m.
