SCARBOROUGH — Marie Ayotte (Willett) Belanger, 96, died on Monday, April 10, 2017, at the age of 96.

Mrs. Belanger was born in Hamlin Plantation on June 20, 1920, and was the daughter of Edmund C. and Annie (Ouellette) Ayotte. She attended school in Hamlin, as well as Gates Business College in Augusta, where she was a member of the Pi Rho Zeta Sorority.

Mrs. Belanger was predeceased by her first husband, Frederick Willett, on April 20, 1952; and a son, Michael Willett, on March 21, 1966, both of Augusta. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Aurele Belanger, on Oct. 18, 2014; as well as seven sisters and eight brothers.

She and her second husband lived in Caribou many years. They later moved to Augusta and were there for 14 years before moving to Scarborough so they could be closer to family members.

She is survived by her daughter Kathlyn Willett, of South Portland; daughter Donna (Willett) Kendal, of Biddeford; and bonus daughter Arlene (Belanger) Vaillancourt, of Scarborough; seven grandchildren, including Tracy Kimball, of Casco; Jessica Paul, of Brentwood, N.H.; Jeff Enman, of Limerick; Mark Belanger, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Peter Vaillancourt, of Biddeford. She is fondly remembered by her eleven great-grandchildren, as well as her two special great-great-granddaughters.
