CORNISH — Louise B. Sargent, 85, of Cornish passed away on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough with loving family by her side.

She was born in Oxford on April 28, 1927, the daughter of William and Nettie McAllister Gregoire and attended local schools.

Louise was a hard worker and worked for many years at the Cornish Dress Shop. She also worked at Saco Valley Cold Storage in Cornish for 25 years. In addition, she raked blueberries and picked apples for several years as well.

Louise married Paul A. Sargent on Dec. 28, 1963.

She attended the Windham Assembly of God for many years and her many hobbies included crafts, baking and dancing with her husband. She also loved to take pictures of her family and beautiful scenic landscapes. Above all, she loved her family and especially, along with Paul, loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three children, Michael Sargent, Steven Sargent and Linda Laughlin; as well as several brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 48 years, Paul Sargent of Cornish; two sons, David Sargent of West Baldwin and Delwin Sargent of Casco; a brother, Paul Gregoire of Kennebunk; numerous loving grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

An hour of visitation was held on Sunday, Dec. 16, from 1 to 2 p.m., immediately followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m., at the Watson, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St., Cornish. Burial will be in Cornish in the spring.
