SCARBOROUGH — Lonney Girard, 53, of Casco, passed away peacefully after a 10-month-long battle of cancer, surrounded by loved ones on March 17, 2024, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

He was born on February 27, 1971, in Biddeford, a son of Richard F. and Evelyn D. (Shorey) Girard.

Lonney was a truly loving and giving soul and everyone that met him loved him. He was a natural
leader and always had time to talk to anyone that needed his advice or to lend a helping hand. He was a man of nature and loved to spend much of his time outdoors hunting and fishing and ATVing.

Lonney volunteered thousands of hours to help others and to the outdoors he loved so much, as a volunteer firefighter of 10 years (truck captain) and as the president of the Lakes Region ATV Club for 18 years. He was a man that will be truly missed by all and is a great loss to our community.

Lonney is survived by his wife Amie Girard; daughters, Kassandra Tang her husband Punlieu and Elizabeth Hackett and her husband Dylan; his mother Evelyn Diane Girard; three brothers, Richard, Kevin, and Kerry Girard; a sister, Karen Luker.

A potluck celebration of Lonney’s life will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the Naples American Legion Post #155, 26 Casco Road in Naples.
