Lawrence F. Proctor Sr., 83

Lawrence F. Proctor Sr., 83, of Casco, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, surrounded by the love and support of his children.

He was born on April 13, 1929, son of the late Kenneth and Ruth (Pierce) Proctor of Casco. He resided in Casco all his life, attended Casco schools and held employment as a truck drive for 33 years with Hancock Lumber, Casco. Lawrence truly enjoyed his job and the people he worked with. He retired at age 72.

On June 26, 1948, Lawrence married his wife, Florence (Burtsell) Proctor. They were married 63 years. They were proud parents of six children. Lawrence loved the outdoors, especially cutting firewood, mowing, gardening and snowplowing. Over the past few years he enjoyed visiting his very dear friends, John Polland and Bruce Murley, the staff and residents at the Bridgton Healthcare Center, enjoying lunch and listening to the entertainment with everyone.

He is survived by two sons, three daughters, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Lawrence F. Proctor Jr. of Bonita Springs, Fla., Scott K. Proctor, his wife Susan and his two sons, Jacob and Caleb, all of Casco, Pamela Spearrin, her son Michael Plummer, his wife Amy and their daughter Kalor of Casco, Shirley Labonte, her husband Robert and their daughter Michelle Knowles, her husband Scott and their children, Michael and Samantha Knowles, their son Christopher Labonte, his companion Marcey Mason, and her daughter Kaleigh, all of Milford, N.H., Delores Desrosier, her husband Stanley, her son Jeremy, his wife Andrea and her daughter Nichole Pearson and her two sons, Preston and Payton, all of Roosevelt, Minn., and Timothy Proctor's daughter, Maranda Proctor and her daughter, Brionna Florence of Kissimmee, Fla. Lawrence is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by his son, Timothy R. Proctor (April 30, 2012), and his two brothers, Kenneth and Malcolm Proctor.

Graveside services to be held at Green Grove Cemetery, Rt. 11, Casco, Maine, on Saturday, Oct.. 20, 2012 at 1 p.m. Everyone is invited to join the family for a bereavement luncheon immediately following the services at the American Legion, Post 155 (lower level), Rt. 11, Naples, Maine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Casco Rescue Unit, P.O. Box 117, Casco, ME 04015.
