Joseph P. Kashinsky, 63

SCARBOROUGH — Joseph Paul Kashinsky, 63, of Westbrook, passed away on Tuesday morning, Nov. 3, 2015, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a long illness, with his family by his side.

He was born in Portland on June 8, 1952, the son of Anthony and Tina Maccaro Kashinsky. He attended Portland schools, graduating from Portland High School, Class of 1970.

Joe was employed as a manager with Shaw’s Supermarkets throughout greater Portland until his retirement after 30 years from the Windham store.

Joe enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle with his many friends. He also had a passion for cars, most recently his Corvette. Above all, Joe’s biggest passion was spending time with his family.

Joe was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Donna Cagle.

He leaves behind his stepmother, Nancy Kashinsky of Portland; his wife, Kathy Alling Kashinsky of Westbrook; a sister, Marguerite Barnett of Montana; two daughters, Clarice Smith of Gray and Kristina Brewer of Bridgton; two stepdaughters, Alicia Haskell and Kaitlyn Chandler, both of Windham; and four grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford Street, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carolyn Lambert officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the funeral home. Interment will be private for family.
