John D. Egan

SEBAGO – John D. Egan, 50, of Standish, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 16, 2012.

He was born in Massachusetts on June 30, 1961, a son of the late Desmond J. and Irene (Sullivan) Egan. He grew up on Sebago Lake and graduated from Bonny Eagle High School as a member of the class of 1979. After high school, he attended the former Southern Maine Vocational & Technical Institute for carpentry.

John started working in carpentry at age 15 and eventually started his own business, John Egan Custom Builders.

John loved anything to do with the outdoors, which is why the love of his life was Sebago Lake. He enjoyed boating and jet skiing on the lake as well as hunting.

He will be sadly missed by his two sons, Erik S. Egan of Portland and Robert Egan of Orlando, Fla.; his three daughters, Ashley Perry of Gorham, Kayla Allen of Boston, Mass. and McKenzie Allen of Gorham; a grandson and a granddaughter.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Wilde Memorial Chapel in Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Avenue, Portland, with Rev. Philip Shearman officiating.
