Jane M. Byron

EAST SEBAGO — Jane M. Levesque Byron passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough surrounded by her family.

Born in Dedham on March 4, 1922, she was the daughter of Keith and Martha (Johnson) Leighton, and was raised and educated in Westbrook.

A longtime employee of the former S.D. Warren Company of Westbrook, she retired from there in 1981 after 30 years of service.

Jane was a member of the Maine Deaf Senior Citizens, as well as a member of the International Catholic Deaf Association.

She was a quilter, supplying many quilts to family and friends as well as donating many of them to different charity organizations to be raffled off. She enjoyed playing bingo. Her biggest joy in life was her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; her previous husband, Luc Levesque, whom she was married to for 54 years; and her sister, June Carrier.

Survivors include her loving husband of seven years, William J. Byron of East Sebago; a sister, Joy Damiano of Colorado; her daughter, Norma Boulanger of Windham; her two sons, John Levesque of Buxton and Larry Levesque of Windham; daughter, Nola Scott of Somersworth, N.H.; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
