James D. Blake, 72

LEWISTON — James D. Blake, 72, passed away at Central Maine Medical Center on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1945, in Portland to Wily and Vida (Lombard) Blake. He graduated from Fryeburg Academy in 1966. James was a Supervisor for Jones & Vining, and a Foreman for Unique Concrete. He also owned his own cleaning company and performed maintenance for JetBlue.

James was a member of the Amvets, Eagles and Future Farmers of America. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. James liked playing cribbage, watching football and NASCAR, as well as race horses but, most importantly, he loved his family. He is survived by his brother Richard Blake; sister Louise Tibbetts; his companion Ginny Weeks; his children Travis and wife Susan Blake, Corey and wife Dawn Blake, and Jade Blake and her fiancé William Jordan; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, many brothers and sisters; and his daughter Amy.
