CASCO — Harvey C. Small, 83, died on January 19, 2024, at his residence.

Harvey was born on June 3, 1940, to Delmar and Mary Small. He graduated from Casco High School in 1958 and went on to graduate from Gorham State Teachers College. He was an educator in the Lewiston School system for 30 years with a great passion for his students. At the age of 21, Harvey became a Free Mason. Harvey had a love for hunting partridge, fly fishing, and ice fishing at his camp in Upton, Maine.

Harvey was predeceased by his parents Delmar and Mary Small, sister Methyl Small, brother William Small, and the love of his life Nancy Kennison. Also, his dog Muttis, and his cat Miss Kitty.

He is survived by his nephews, Chris Small, caretaker Jason Small and his wife Heidi, and Aaron Small Sr., his sister-in-law Stephanie Whitley, also several great-nieces and nephews, his great-great-nephew Simon (young whippersnapper) and his great-great-niece Amara. Also his special friends, Howard Burnell, Jim and Jo-Ann Hutchinson, Joe and Penny Bernier, Johnny Klunick. Also, his best friends Perry Edwards and Bruce Murley.

Special thanks to Jason and Heidi Small, and Carrie Tirriell for the wonderful care they gave to Harvey these last few months.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring. Interment will be at the Webb’s Mills Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Hall Funeral Home in Casco where condolences and tributes may be shared at www.hallfuneralhome.net.
