NORTH BRIDGTON — George Saunders, 77, passed peacefully at the Concord Regional VNA Hospice House surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Concord, N.H.

George leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Alice Saunders; and sister, Susan Hovde. He was predeceased by his parents, Harriett and Joseph Saunders of Merrimac, Mass.

George and Alice enjoyed many years on Moose Pond and also in North Bridgton. George enjoyed his work at Bridgton Academy along with the many people he met through driving for Volunteer Drivers.

George had a kind and gentle heart and was often referred to as Santa Claus because of his brilliant blue eyes and white beard.

George leaves behind four children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 17 in Northfield, N.H.
