PORTLAND — Fay Moynihan, 89, of Bridgton, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 8, 2022, at the Barron Center in Portland.

She was born on Feb. 1, 1933, a daughter of Erald and Anna (Chaplin) Kilborn.

Fay graduated from Bridgton High School and married Lee Moynihan Jr. in 1950.

Fay held a variety of jobs while raising her children. In 1983, she went to work as an admissions clerk in the Emergency Department at the Bridgton Hospital, retiring in 2002.

Fay was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church, UCC in Bridgton, which she joined in 1947. Her dedication to her faith led to employment as the church’s very first secretary for Rev. John Swanson. She was also a member of the Women’s Bible Study Group for over thirty years. She served on a variety of church committees over the years and was the catalyst for the church to establish the “Clothing Room” to help families in need. One of the highlight’s of her life was to travel to Jerusalem with other church members.

Fay will be remembered for her compassion, and enjoyed helping others, including her many friends. She had a tremendous love for her family and especially loved the company of her grandchildren.

Fay is loved and remembered by her children, Patrick Moynihan and his wife, Charlene of South Portland, Dennis Moynihan of Bridgton, Doreen Meade and her husband, Brian of Bridgton, and David Moynihan of Bridgton; five grandchildren, Christopher Moynihan and his wife, Casey, Devon Deery and her husband, Sean, Adria Moynihan, Shannon McConkey and her husband, Cliff, and William Huntress and his fiancée, Virginia; seven great-grandchildren and her nephew Adam Kilborn.

She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Kilborn.

A memorial service celebrating Fay’s life will be held, 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at the Hall Funeral Home in Cas- co. Spring interment will be at the South Bridgton Cemetery. Condolences and tributes may be shared with Fay’s family at www.hallfuneralhome.net.
