Elmer C. Murray

CAPE ELIZABETH — Elmer Clinton Murray, 86, passed away on Aug. 2, 2012, following a long illness.

He was born on Oct. 19, 1925, in Westbrook, the son of Clinton H. Murray and Grace M. (Manchester) Murray.

He was president of Associated General Contractors of Maine. He loved aviation, served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, where he flew the B25 Mitchell and later in the Maine Army National Guard.

He had a great love of nature, was an avid hunter and loved canoeing. He was very much a family man and loved having family close to him. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and lived in Cape Elizabeth for the better part of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Estabrook Murray; four children, Robert E. Murray, Kathryn Murray, Edward T. Murray and Michael S. Murray; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and his brother, Kenneth Wayne Murray of Denmark.
