Eleanor M. Smith, 92

FARMINGTON — Eleanor M. Smith, 92, formerly of East Stoneham, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Sandy River Center.

She was born on Feb. 11, 1926 in North Lovell, where she grew up, the daughter of Freeman and Annie Flint McKeen. She graduated from Bridgton Academy in the Class of 1946. She married Nathan P. Smith and had been a homemaker all of her life, as well as working as a housekeeper and a nurse’s aide.

She was a longtime member of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861–1865.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Smith; four grandchildren, as well as many special friends.

She was predeceased by her husband.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 11 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Stoneham, where the Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War will participate in the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
