EUSTIS — Edna E. Smith, 90, of Eustis died on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 at Franklin Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born on Sept. 16, 1924 in Portland, the daughter or Lawrence and Louise Hutchinson.

She grew up in Windham and graduated from Windham High School, class of 1942. Edna retired from the Canal/Key Bank, where she was the assistant manager for several years.

Edna was an avid reader; she even liked to read her cookbooks. She enjoyed watching the wildlife, particularly deer that frequented the yard at the house Arkie and Edna built in Eustis.

She is survived by her companion of 27 years, Arthur “Arkie” Rogers; a son, Donald Smith of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a daughter, Diane Monty of Raymond; a sister, Ada Ridlon, residing at Ledgewood Manor Nursing Home in Windham; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her two sisters, Pearl Garnett and Doris Fitzgerald.
