Edmund J. Gordon, 78

WINDHAM — Edmund Joseph Gordon, 78, of Windham succumbed to illness at the Togus VA center in Augusta on Friday, Jan. 1, 2016.

Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He worked as a master plumbing and heating contractor in the Casco area for many years. He also mentored and taught many apprentices throughout his career.

Ed is a veteran of the United States Air Force and Army National Guard. He enjoyed a long membership with the American Legion Post 155 in Naples. His sons carry on his legacy with the membership in the Sons of the American Legion. Ed was a fan of the NFL and college football. He especially liked the Army/Navy Service games. He enjoyed horse racing, NASCAR and even a friendly wager. He would host many Fourth of July cookouts at his lakefront home for family and friends. He especially loved spending time lakeside with the family’s Labrador retrievers.

Ed is survived by his wife of 33 years, Claudia; sons, Glenn, Paul, Mark and Jim; his three grandchildren and a great-grandson.
