Doris Osgood

Doris Marie “Grammie O” Osgood, 86, of Bridgton, died early Thursday evening, Jan. 15, 2015, at the Bridgton Health Care Center in Bridgton.
She was born on Aug. 28, 1928, in Bridgton, a daughter of Clarence and Abbie (Bryant) Libby. She attended local schools, graduating from Bridgton High School.
On Aug. 16, 1946, she married John Osgood in Hiram. They made their home in Denmark, where she worked for Cardinal Printing as a collator during the times of year when they printed local town reports.
Doris was a member of the Denmark Lions Club and the Denmark Draggers Snowmobile Club. She also served as a local Girl Scout leader and coached girls’ youth basketball.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, country music, camping, Saturday night dinners and dancing with her husband John, and time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Doris is loved by her daughter, Linda Cousins and her husband, Leeroy of Tavares, Fla.; grandchildren, Jody Gray and her husband, Dan of Bridgton, Lynn Augustine and her husband, Brendon of Brunswick, and Lisa Witte and her husband, Sean Hebert of N.H.; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Esther Kilborn of Gorham, Phyllis Shaw of Bridgton, and Robert Libby of Standish; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John, on Aug. 28, 1989; a son, John R. Osgood; and siblings, Richard Libby, Marion Littlefield, Mabel Irish, and Charles Libby.
