Donna M. Curtis, 80

FARMINGTON — Donna Marlene Edwards Curtis passed to life of the spirit Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, in Farmington.

She was born in Casco on Nov. 26, 1937, to Lila (Winslow) and Bela H. Edwards. She was raised in the Webbs Mills area of Casco, where she attended the little schoolhouse through the eighth grade. She was on the basketball team at Casco High School. When she graduated in 1956 she enlisted in the U.S. Army. Her service was one of the joys of her life.

After her service she met and married Robert Curtis of West Bethel. They raised a son, Kyle, who had three sons. Their home was in East Bethel. Young people who knew her from scouting, etc., often visited when back in Bethel. The Curtis's enjoyed Blue Grass music and camping at festivals. She worked at the mill in Greenwood, and part-time at the Post Office.

At seven years old she became an aunt. From then on she was like a hen with several little chicks.

She was predeceased by parents; brother Churchill; half brother Glenham Bishop; sisters Corinne and Lucille and niece Sonya. She is survived by her son; grandsons; nieces and nephews; and dear friends Janie and Tom and their son Kyle.

Committal was at Abbot's Mills Cemetery in South Rumford, Maine, on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m.
