Daniel R. Edgerly

CORNISH — Daniel R. “Boone” Edgerly, 49, of Cornish died on March 15, 2011 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland after a brief illness.

He was born in Portland on Aug. 26, 1961, a son of Myron Edgerly Jr. and Patricia Cross Edgerly. He attended local schools and graduated from Sacopee Valley High School in 1980. He married Shelly Humphrey on April 3, 1983.

He worked for several years at Blue Rock Industries in Westbrook, and then for several more years at the Kezar Falls Woolen Mill until its closing. He has worked for close to 20 years at Highland Farms in Cornish for the Pike family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He loved to golf and played in leagues at the Naples Country Club. He loved spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and above all loved going for long rides with his wife, Shelley, exploring Maine and New Hampshire together. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was predeceased by his father, Myron “Jr.” Edgerly; and a nephew.

Surviving are his wife, Shelly Edgerly of Cornish; his mother, Patty Edgerly of Cornish; a daughter, Danielle Edgerly of Porter; a son, Jesse Edgerly of Cornish; two sisters, Lorna Elliott of Cornish and Lori Edgerly of Cornish; a brother, Stacey Edgerly of South Hiram; three grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews; and many cousins.

Visitation was on Sunday, March 20 followed by a private prayer service for the family at the Watson, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple Street, Cornish. Pastor Robert Irish officiated.

Burial will be private at a later date.
