Clifton P. Day, 77

Clifton P. Day, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 16, 2016 after years of failing health.

He was born in Alfred, on Feb. 28, 1939, a son of George and Persis (Knight) Day.

Clif attended local schools. He was a machinist whose major employers were Sprague Electric, Pratt & Whitney and Corning before retiring in 2001.

Clif was an avid motorcycle rider with nearly half a million miles under his belt. He enjoyed numerous hobbies including fishing, locksmithing, dancing, woodcarving and oil painting, but most of all he loved his family, friends and life.

Clif was a 3rd Degree Master Mason with the Alfred Lodge and a member of many motorcycle groups.

Clif is predeceased by his first wife, Marilyn Murphy; his parents, George and Persis Day; and three brothers, Earl, Arnold and Donald.

Clif also leaves behind his wife, Constance Legere Woodbury, whom he married in 1981; a son, Stephen Day of Sebago; a stepdaughter, Laurie Ellicott of Bristol, England; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and also several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Village By The Sea at 1373 Post Road in Wells on Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m. Clif’s desire would be that you would dress comfortably if attending.
