Beverly Bartlett

WINDHAM — Beverly A. Bartlett, 79, of Windham, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Friday, May 17, 2019, at Maine Medical Center.

She was born on Jan. 2, 1940. in Conway, New Hampshire, the daughter of Percival and Arolin (Jewett) Kenerson. Beverly grew up in Fryeburg, where her parents owned and operated the Jockey Cap Store. She spent many hours playing in Molly Ockett's cave with her dolls. She loved playing in the family store with their bulldog Queenie, and sneaking cookies from the cookie jar.

She attended Fryeburg Academy and upon graduating she went onto Cosmetology School. On Aug. 7, 1960, she married Waine Bartlett. Together they owned their own business through Agway and eventually that led to purchasing The Village Store in Denmark. They enjoyed operating the store with Harlan and Martha Bartlett. They then undertook another adventure and purchased the White Pines Motel in Raymond. The best was yet to come when they retired and traveled the United States. They made long-lasting memories to share and reminisce over the years.

Beverly helped to start the first Cub Scout Club of Denmark and was a member of the Women’s Extension Group. She enjoyed knitting, cross-stitch, snowmobile trips to Rangeley, going to the casino and playing Bingo. Her most favorite time was spent with family, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many hours were spent having tea parties with her grandchildren by the poolside, and they treasure the memories of that time with her.

Beverly is survived by her husband Waine; children Alicia Bartlett and her partner Jim Briggs, Dale Bartlett and his wife Wendy, and Joel Bartlett and his wife Charlotte; grandchildren Amanda, Jessica, Dillon, Ashley, Kristian, Nichole, and Lindsay; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and four siblings.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 1, at 3 p.m., at Pine Grove Cemetery in Fryeburg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer and American Heart Association.

Arrangements are under the care of Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren St., Fryeburg. Online condolences may be shared with her family at www.woodfuneralhome.org
