FRYEBURG — Bernice Frances Tobin, 89, of Lovell, passed away on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Fryeburg Health Care Center.

She was born in North Walpole, N.H., on July 26, 1929, the daughter of Frank and Stella Johnson.

She graduated from Burbank Hospital School of Nursing in 1952, and married Melvin J. Tobin that same year. She worked as a registered nurse for 25 years. She loved taking care of people.

She was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Hospital Guild in Bridgton. She enjoyed knitting and was a very good cook. She loved to travel to the islands and beaches, and she loved the water.

She is survived by her husband of Lovell; her sons, Robert J. and wife Jean, and John J. and wife Rosa; her grandchildren, Matthew, Rebecca and April; her great-grandchildren, Jacob and Amelia; her brother William Johnson; and her sister Joan Connors. She was predeceased by her brother George Johnson.

Family and friends may attend visitation on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren St., Fryeburg. Interment will be at a later date at #4 Cemetery in Lovell.
