FRYEBURG — Austin A. Smith, 93, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 at Fryeburg Health Care Center.

He was formally of Center Conway, N.H.

He was born 1917 in Center Ossipee, N.H., a son of Charles and Charlotte “Sawyer” Smith and was educated in local schools. He owned and operated the State Line Garage for many years. He owned his own airplane and flew everywhere.

He was predeceased by his wife Irma Abbott Smith in 1995; his brothers Everett, Albert, Charles Jr. and  Elmer; and three sisters, Helen Farrington, Evelina Farrington and Myrtle Fox.

He is survived by two sisters, Viola Cram and Violet Fox of Fryeburg; a stepson Russell McInnis of Madison, N.H.; several step-grandchildren; and several great step-great grandchildren.
