Arthur Christy

WESTBROOK — Arthur (Bud) Christy, 80, of Westbrook, died on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, after a long illness.

He was born in Portland to Arthur S. Christy Sr. and A. Jeanette Cory. He was in the Army Reserves from 1956-1963. He was a graduate of Portland High School and attended the University of New Hampshire. He was a design engineer for the Portland Company, designing machines for many local companies, and later retired from D&G Machine Products in Westbrook. He was a Boy Scout leader and was a member of the Road Runners Camping Club.

He was married to his wife Donna Osgood for 58 years.

He was predeceased by his parents; and sisters, Barbara Gordon and Judy Provost.

He is survived by sisters Carolyn West and Karen Casey; his five children, Kris Christy of Windham, Kimberly Whittamore of Porter, Kevin Christy of Portland, Keith Christy of Raymond and Kendall Christy of New York; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

There will be no service; the family will gather privately.
