Archie C. Richards

BRIDGTON — Archie C. Richards, 86, died peacefully June 24, 2011 at his home in Bridgton, after a long fight with cancer.

Archie attended Wellesley, Mass. schools and graduated in 1943. He joined the Navy from 1943–1946, and was assigned to the Marines, where he served in the Philippines and China as a medic. He married Alma Rita Charlton in 1954. They moved to Medfield, Mass where they lived for 33 years.

He was co-founder of Anderson Electrical Contractors of Walpole, Mass. He retired to Bridgton, Maine to their summer home in 1987. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and Boston sports teams.

He is predeceased by his parents, Archie D. and Harriet Richards of Wellesley, Mass, and his granddaughter Amanda Leigh Murray of Medfield, Mass. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alma R. Richards; his daughter, Susan Jean Richards Murray of Newton, Mass.; his grandchildren, Colleen Rita and Joseph Richards Murray of Medfield, Mass.; and his great-grandson, Jason Spurlin II of Harwich, Mass.
