Allen Bragdon

CASCO — Allen Roy Bragdon, 64, died on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at the Lahey Clinic in Massachusetts.

He was born in Lewiston, on May 7, 1951, the son of William Avery and Estelle Beatrice (Hood) Bragdon.

Allen grew up in Westbrook and attended local schools. After high school, he began working for Monson Companies, Inc. in South Portland. He worked there for over 42 years. Outside of work, Allen enjoyed many things, especially fishing and spending time at his camp on Schoodic Lake. He always had a project going, whether it was woodworking, working on motors, or just puttering around. Allen was a kind and generous man who loved his family. He received great joy from this children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Dianne; daughters, Krista Bragdon of Westbrook and Allison Cogswell of Freeport; stepson, David Swazey of Fort Meyers; stepdaughter, Leslie Hartman of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren; brothers, Steve Bragdon of Limington and John Bragdon of Rome, N.Y.; and many cousins; nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter.

A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham. Services will be private at a later date. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.dolbyfuneralchapels.com
