Alan Lee Rankin

WINDSOR, VT. — Alan Lee Rankin, 66, formerly of Hiram, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Vermont as the result of a severe stroke.

He was the beloved son of Albert and Helen Rankin. He was born April 2, 1951, in North Conway, N.H.

Alan’s childhood was spent in Hiram, where he went to Mt. Cutler School. He attended Fryeburg Academy, where he followed in his father’s footsteps by receiving high honors for boys when he graduated. He was honored with a scholarship from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass., where he attended for two years. He then worked in the Boston area for several years and spent his last years in Vermont.

His father predeceased him.

Surviving are his mother, Helen; and his sister, Susan.

A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2018, time and place to be announced.
