Dora Harrington

DOVER, N.H. — Dora Esther (Smith) Harrington, 99, of Dover, N.H. and Stow, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 9, 2018, surrounded by the love of her entire family at Langdon Place in Dover, N.H.

Born on Feb. 10, 1919 in South Paris, ‘Mammie/Dodie’ is survived by her daughter, Sharon Berube of Hudson, Fla.; her son, Stephen of Lynn, Mass.; her brother, Luther Earl Smith of Conway, N.H.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her daughters, Katherine Dale Harrington and Gay Meredith Roubo; and son, David Harrington.

Dora lived a rich and varied life, ensuring her family knew the value of poetry, music, flowers, courtesy, humor, eccentricity, creativity and compassion. She was loved by all she encountered, oftentimes not fully grasping the difference she made in people’s lives. She will be dearly missed by many; the world has lost an extraordinary soul.

Services were held Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren Street, Fryeburg. Interment followed at Eastern Cemetery in Gorham. Condolences can be made online at www.woodfuneralhome.org
