Margaret Garry

RAYMOND — Margaret M. Garry, 70, of Raymond, passed away on July 8, 2017, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Portland, Aug. 9, 1946, to her loving parents, Mary and John Johansen. She graduated from Portland High School; she then graduated from Pierre’s Beauty School and opened Countryside Hair Fashions.
Her path led her to David M. Garry, and together they opened Thatcher’s Restaurant in Windham. Margaret enjoyed family the most, and was always throwing great parties, especially around the holidays.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, David M. Garry.

She is survived by her father, John “Joe” Johansen; a sister, Barbara Malia; and her children, Tammie Duncanson and Timothy Townsend. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; and many other children she claimed as her own.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 919 Roosevelt Trail, Windham. To share a memory or condolence, please visit: www.athutchins.com
