SOUTH CASCO — Aaron Edward Chute, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, in South Casco.

Aaron was born in Casco, the oldest of six children to Edward Merton Chute and Gloria Peace Day Chute on Oct. 20, 1949. He graduated from Portland High School and served in the U.S. Army, seeing duty in Vietnam.

He was an all around carpenter, mechanic, electronics or computer man — it seemed that he could fix almost anything, sometimes with pieces left over. He even wrote a gardening blog for a time, experimenting with various methods of small gardening.

Aaron or “Big A” is remembered by all who knew him as an easygoing, kind, humble, compassionate man, helpful to everyone wherever he could, and a great father who loved having his family around him.

Aaron is survived by his wife, the love of his life for almost 45 years, Debbie Baird Chute; father Edward of Bridgton; brothers Stephen and Nathan; sisters Maila, Ruth and Glorianne; daughters Melissa and husband Edward, Jennifer and husband Mike; son Aaron Edward Chute Jr. and wife Tasha; and 12 loving grandchildren. He is predeceased by his mother Gloria and his son Justin.

Because of his faith in Jesus, they all look forward to a grand reunion someday.

A celebration of life service will be held in the new year. Online condolences may be left for the family at hallfuneralhomeinc.com
