BUXTON — Patricia Lampron, 77, better known as “Patty,” Mom or Nana, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday morning, Dec. 8, 2010.

The second youngest of five, Patricia was born on March 8, 1933, in Portland, the daughter of the late John and Mary Welch Joyce. In 1950, Patty graduated from Deering High School.

In 1952, Patty met her loving husband, Hubert Lampron, at a dance hall in North Windham. On Sept. 5, 1953, she married Hubert and had five children. Both her and her husband Hubert worked side by side racing horses in Rockingham and Foxboro. She enjoyed working hard, raising a family and taking care of her husband. In 1972, both Patty and Hubert purchased the Mini Mart gas station where she tended to cooking, accounting and managing her staff but more importantly she made many friends along the way.

After retiring from the Mini Mart in 1989, Patty and her husband Hubert moved to Ocala, Fla., where she enjoyed raising colts. In the summer time, they would come back to Maine and visit with family and race their horses at Scarborough Downs and the Maine fairs.

Patty was an absolute animal lover. She contributed to the ASPCA but was especially fond of her cats and dogs; so much so, that she would fix them a small plate of human food for supper so they could eat with her and her husband. She also loved to look out her window and watch her birds. Every morning, Patty checked her bird feeders to be sure her wild birds had enough to eat for the day.

In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Scrabble and Yahtzee with her kids or grandkids — if they dared to play the champ! Patty loved dancing, bowling, roller skating and crossword puzzles. She loved to create ceramic pieces for her kids and grandkids to enjoy. Toward her later years, she and her husband moved back to Maine to enjoy their children and grandchildren.

Throughout Patty’s life, family was most important to her. Come rain or shine, she made sure she and her husband worked side by side to raise their children with morals and worked hard to provide for their family. Patty lived with no regrets and she was most proud of her 57 years of marriage.

Patty was predeceased by her brothers, John Jack Joyce and Thomas F. Joyce.

Surviving are her husband, Hubert Lampron of Buxton; their five children, Darlene Lillard of Casco, Debra Wentworth of Otisfield, Denise Dame of Standish, Dana Lampron of Standish and Doreen Parlin of Buxton; a sister, Joanna Wescott of Springhill, Fla.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours were held on Monday, Dec. 13, at the Dolby & Dorr Funeral Chapel, 76 State Street, Gorham. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at St. Anne’s Church, Main Street, Gorham, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
