Barbara Lyon, 71, of Bridgton, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at her home.

She was born in Portland on Dec. 10, 1941, the daughter of Lothrop M. and Ollie Erlene Crocker Ladd. She graduated from Woburn High School and had been employed as an insurance agent. She was a member of the Lakeside Garden Club and the Republican Party. She enjoyed being by the water. She married Peter Lyon on Sept. 29, 1980.

She is survived by her husband of Bridgton; a son, Guy Ladd and Anne Russo-Ladd; three grandchildren, Abigail, Thomas and Mathew; a sister, Connie Ladd-McVey and David; and two nieces, Michele Latham and Heather Low.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, followed by burial at Forest Hills Annex Cemetery. Arrangements were under the care of Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 8 Elm St., Bridgton.
