WEST BALDWIN — Nadine V. (Tracy) Ridlon, 73, of Douglas Hill Road, died on Aug. 1, 2012, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after battling cancer.

She had been in residential care at the Fryeburg Health Care Center since November 2010.

She was born in Woodland (Baileyville) on Oct. 8, 1938, to Victor T. and Fidella J. (Greenlaw) Tracy. She attended local schools and was a 1956 graduate of St. Croix High School. She married Carl B. Ridlon on Sept. 11, 1964.

Nadine worked for the Jayson Company on India Street in Portland as a young woman. After the family moved to West Baldwin, she worked with 50 Plus and later drove the school bus for SAD 55. She was a great friend to others, taking people shopping or going to appointments.

She was a member of the Presumpscot Grange and Chestnut Street Church in Portland, then the West Baldwin Grange, West Baldwin Methodist Church, and the Pocahontas in Sebago. She was very involved with the Ossipee Valley Fair Association, collecting ads for the fair’s event schedule guide for many years. Nadine and Carl were honored for all their work one year and were Grand Marshalls of the fair’s parade.

She enjoyed hosting annual family reunions, old TV shows, and Christian music. Nadine will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are daughter, Carole A. Doughty of Brunswick; son, Kevin T. Doughty of West Baldwin; two grandsons; sisters Winnona Garney and Nettie Albert of Florida, Gwendolyn Shaw of North Carolina; brothers Conrad Tracy of California and Victor Tracy of Massachusetts; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carl B. Ridlon; two sisters, Ethel Spring of Shrewsbury, Mass. and Sylvia Keyes of Harvard, Mass.; and two brothers, Randolph Tracy of Shrewsbury, Mass. and Aljernon Tracy of Coventry, Conn.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 12, at 1 p.m., at the West Baldwin Methodist Church on Route 113. Reception to follow. Arrangements by Watson, Neal & York Funeral Home, Cornish.
