William C. Kerlew, 92

William Calvin Kerlew, 92, of Bridgton, died on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at Bridgton Health Care Center.

William was born on Jan. 14, 1924, in New York City, the son of Harry and Violet (Bailey) Kerlew.

He was a retired New York City elementary school principal and worked for the Board of Education for 31 years.

He was happily married to Marion Ruth Senior, his wife of 66 years. They were married Aug. 6, 1950, in Manhattan, N.Y., and had four children.

He loved his family, playing his guitar and all the friends he made in Maine.

He is survived by his wife of Bridgton; daughter, Judith of Bridgton; sons, Clyde of Queens, N.Y., and Kassim of Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by a daughter, Karen.

His family conducted a small home celebration with the gracious assistance of Fr. Craig Hacker of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
