Sue S. Williams

KENNEBUNK — Sue Snell Williams, 79, of Kennebunk, died on Jan. 12, 2012, as a result of complications from colon infection and cancer at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

She was born in Little Falls, N.Y., on Aug. 6, 1932, and grew up in St. Johnsville, N.Y., attending schools there. Sue was a graduate of SUNY Oneonta, N.Y., and received advanced degrees from the University of Connecticut. She was an elementary school teacher in New York and Connecticut and a principal in Danbury, Conn. She was active in the Kennebunkport Historical Society as well as the Snells Bush Church in Manheim, N.Y. She was an eighth generation Palatine German descendant.

Sue is survived by her husband, Roger; daughter, Lyn Smith of Wells; son, Peter of Hiram; daughter, Lany Cutter of Dartmouth, Mass.; a grandson; as well as sisters, Sally Thomson and Cathy Miles of St. Johnsville, N.Y.
